looks like im too busy for this crap again.

my car horn is broken. theres a funny story that goes along with that one, but i'd rather tell it in person.

the soccer season started. we are 1-1-1. we tied michigan. it was sweet. i need to score more goals.

school started. i've been reading. classes are fun. i developed film for the first time today, like a pimp.

my party was a success. i had tons of fun and it seems like everyone else did. some people probably owe me some money though.

my ipod is great, but i still have issues with taking it out in public/ admitting that i have an ipod.

i got a stupid parking ticket today and celebrated by making dinner for some friends and watching commando. commando is still a top notch action movie.

my room is a mess - i work a lot, i read a lot, i play a lot, i sleep a lot. senior year is nice. and organized.

the other night this fly was in my room and i couldnt kill it. for some reason it kept flying in my ear while i was sleeping, so i kept waking up and smacking myself in the face.

lotta action, lotta action. soccer started. twice a day till next wednesday. numbers have been rising and some decent kids have come out so far. running practice is kind of tiring - mentally i guess- everyones always asking whats next, and i gotta entertain these kids while trying to get them in shape. its fun though. i made up a variation of a game today that i liked, but i dont think anyone else did. ah well.

i finally got an ipod yesterday. nothings on it yet. im organizing. the ipod is going to be the most organized thing in my life. after working all last night and this morning, i am about halfway done ripping my cds into my computer. while waiting for the cds to rip, i just keep going over the song library and fix info mistakes and delete what needs to be deleted. i probably wont transfer everything over until tomorrow. as a result, tomorrow will surely be a great day.

its new student week, and its thursday. that only means one thing ---
i should probably leave the apartment tonight

it's new student week, and today there were about 50 kids outside our apartment trying to figure out if there was a party here. there wasn't. the cops are out in force, a ridiculous amount of force. funny how they busted the small friends get together that i went to twice while they didnt even bust the actual party i went to once. gotta love evanston
or hate it

im drinking red koolaid, waiting to pass out.
tonights the night
we played deadball. i hung around in second and finally took one off of will. yes, its pretty much a perfect game. felt like i was on newlyweds though. or the real world. jesus. played some soccer, can't wait till wednesday. put some structure in my life. i work tomorrow, then saturday, and then i dont work for a week and a half - then its mondays till whenever. man, great day i picked to be a permanent employee on. all the fuckin crazy people come on monday mornings. all the creepy old men and that weird gay guy... man.... i mean, i dont usually take things too seriously, and i find a lot of things funny that happen to me - so i guess this is funny too. but i dont really want to be called 'cowboy' or be barked at in the same blockbuster transaction anymore.

and that gene guy is insane. today, after i checked him out, he slammed his briefcase on the counter and shut it really loud. then he tried to slam the door, eventhough you cant, and then he stood there and glared at La for a good 20 seconds. La was right on the other side of the window, but she didnt look up till i said he was gone. what a complete nut case. she never did shit to him, and he pulls stuff like that all the time. the other creepy old guy was around too, but he hasnt done anything to lead me to believe he's creepy yet, ive just heard the stories.
gtg finish ali g.
respect.

listen... i'm not that guy.

another soccer game cancelled. i passed out on the couch. ricardo said, 'so cause your game was cancelled, you're just going to sulk?' yes. what else am i supposed to do, anyways. watched part of i am cuba, but now im watching deadly outlaw rekka. its pretty ice so far. the music is sweet, its straight out of duke nukem. haha, this movie is sweet. miike is the man. of course, everyone already knew this. no alarm tomorrow. guitar center doesnt fix amps, so i have to call around. too bad my fashion advisor isn't in town, tomorrow would be a perfect shopping day.

oh yeah, today at work, everything was going fine until basically the last two customers i helped. vlado put it well by saying that people used to just come in and rent movies and leave. now, every other customer wants something special - the bathroom key, something ordered, a release date, etc. he proved this to me over the course of a few minutes helping people. now i dont mind talking to people as much as he does, but i understand his point.

he also doesnt wear a name tag, cause when you do , people talk to you like you are their friend. some guy comes in, who had already been there in the morning, and asks when we were going to get the 4th season of angel. vlado said he didnt know, and sara said that it should come sometime. so then the guy leaves and vlado comments how everybody is nuts. after walking across the parking lot, the guy comes back in and finds some movies (3rd visit of the day). when he gets up to the front, he asks about angel again, saying that 'sara' said it was coming, so he wanted to know when. then some guy comes in, whose obviously not all there, comes straight up to me and vlado and just says 'hi, im going to look for a movie i want.' ... he comes up a few minutes later and says, 'hi, matt. my names john' and he puts out his hand for me to shake. i just kind of looked at him. 'my names john, whats your last name?' 'do you really need to know my last name?' 'no.' 'okay then.'

the next guy that came in basically insisted that i sell him our rental copy of fellowship of the ring. i had to argue with this guy for 5 minutes to explain that i couldnt sell it to him, and that he had to buy it new or just not return it. of course, this all goes much more smoothly if both people involved in the conversation are speaking the same language... god bless america and corporate video rental chains

oh shit! this movie is crazy!

blockbuster patrons, buy a dvd player - my grandma has one and she loves it.

another day, another couple dollars/grocery store lunch/soccer practice with ricardo. got my wings now, in the top 5% - a small accomplishment in a summer filled with none. got to see a couple new places, do some new things, but lost some familiar faces, and forgot how to rhyme. or forgot how to sit down and put something down, im pretty sure i can still rhyme, but i doubt you'll ever hear it again. oh no!

the summer of unfinished business is almost finished, and so is my business for the most part. theres some unfinished business that i cant finish by myself, but that doesn't fit into the terms of 'the summer of unfinished business.' it may, however have more to do with the term of 'my life,' or perhaps remain unfinished which is okay too, cause i might just have better things to do. but every time i put that movie away...

i gotta get this amp fixed. the low buzzing is just killing me. rick portillo owes me a fuckin amp. this one is the exact same, cept it doesnt work... the only input that works is the line in, and its fuzzy. maybe ill take it to guitar center on wednesday. a few bucks would be worth it to fix i think. then i could just leave it on, or better yet, use the input and tweak the knobs to make my turntable sound the best. sounds like a plan, not like i have anything else to do anyways.

gotta watch some movies - soylent green, i am cuba, possession (not the gweneth paltrow one), escape from new york. the predator special edition dvd is sweet. besides having two united states governors in it, that movie ranks up there with die hard as one of the best action movies of all time. in my book at least. i grew up on arnold movies, so i couldnt understand how the 3 people i watched it with had never seen it before. as sean said, "they still make those?" as chris rock said, "Whenever I meet a girl that doesn't give head, I look at them like a damn Betamax...like 'they still make you?'"

and now for something completely different... im gonna go watch that, and see if what i used to think was funny matches up with what i think is funny now.

yesterday turned out to be a great day. not only did i sleep until 2, but i didnt leave my room until about 4. we went downtown (minus adam) to meet liz and ate at this sushi place called kamehachi, right across from film and tape works. i always wanted to eat there when i was working, but never had the time. the fire game was great - 3 to 1 victory over the team on top of the western conference. everyone enjoyed themselves im pretty sure.. i started this entry about 12 hours ago, and am just now finishing it. i dont really feel like writing this stuff anymore. dont really feel like talking to myself about the things i know i did. i guess its nice to look back on, but my ticket stub does the same thing.

if i have another soccer game cancelled, i just don't know what i'll do. i don't like having my expectations repeatedly messed with like that. since my game was cancelled, i went and ran around a field by myself. other soccer players, come back to school so we can practice.

its september 1st which always translates to 'get your shit together.' 20 days till i'm 22. 22 days till school starts, i think. going to the fire game tonight with sam, liz, erika, sonia, and maybe adam. i think they are in last place now and are playing the first place team. damani can beat them.
