how i spent my summer vacation part 2 (buffalo)

so i left sarah's and drove about 6 hours through new york to buffalo. the drive was pretty scenic, but the driving conditions were pretty bad because it rained the whole time. so i had to focus on the road. when i got to my uncle's house, they had just finished eating dinner. my grandparents just got there from chicago a few hours earlier. it was nice to hang out with my cousins. all the cousins i have around here are a few years younger than me, so i never really got to hang out with my cousins as friends/peers.

i met my cousins dog, marty. marty was a little chihuahua with an attitude. i was told he had an 'inner circle' of people that he liked. all the dog did was walk up to me and growl at me and walk away. he did this a couple more times throughout the night. everyone knew marty was a jerk, but i think people loved him because he was such a jerk. since marty didnt like people that much, no one knew what was going to happen to him while the graduation party was going on the next day....

the next day we woke up and sometime in the afternoon, someone noticed that marty was gone. no one could find him, and no one knew where he was. when asked, my aunt said she had 'taken care of it,' and told us not to worry about marty. at first, no one did worry about it. we went to graduation, came back, ate dinner, played scrabble, etc. but still no marty. my cousins started to get worried that maybe marty really was 'taken care of' and was never coming back. as it turns out, marty died that day. he had attacked a few people, and my aunt figured that since he was no longer a nice dog, and since it seemed that most of the family hated him, that his time was up. no one took it very well, since no one was warned or asked or even told about it after it happened. crazy shit.

i saw fahrenheit 9/11 when i was out there. i thought it was good, but i wish that moore would have made it a little more accessible to people of other viewpoints. bowling for columbine was very convincing, but this one comes off as much more sujective which just opens itself up to that much more conservative backlash (some of which i heard today on the radio while shaving my head. i really wanted to call in because some dumb lady took michael moores words as the word of god and was poorly supporting herself, and the host was just being ridiculous, i.e. saying that moore is just a self centered, narcissistic, piece of pie scum. pie scum? yes, pie scum. i dont even know what that is, but i wanted to call in and help explain some things, but, you know, i was busy shaving my head.) anyways, the movie was good. people laughed at bush a lot and clapped at the end.

i left buffalo on sunday around noon, and drove bye myself for 9 hours until i got home. i probably stopped on the way home for a total of a half hour (and most of that time was spent pumping gas.) i was just in a zone, and kept driving and driving and driving. it was pretty boring, especially in comparison to the trip out there. somehow though, even with driving through so long and throughout all the afternoon prime napping hours, i never felt tired. but i do now though, so im going to sleep.

(coming soon... what ive done in the week since then)
